Lake New Melones Page

New Melones Lake is at an elevation of 1,085 feet with 12,500 surface acres and over 100 miles of shoreline. The rains of 1996 filled the lake after years of low water drought conditions.

There are two large campgrounds at Glory Hole and Tuttle Town, both with 4-lane launch ramps and ample parking. Launching and parking are free at both ramps.

New Melones has an abundance of timber and brush cover throughout the lake. The water is usually clear which means you're working the cover from a distance. This combination can make for tough fishing conditions but the lake has a good population of bass which at least increases our chances.
